Do you want to add a powerful touch to your bathroom? A beautiful custom retro shower curtain will give you the privacy and elegance you crave.
There are companies online that will custom design and manufacture your new shower curtain to your specs.
Although the industry standard shower curtain is 72″ x 72″, you can personalize your curtain to the size you want. So if you have a very large walk in bathtub you can get just the right size to fit your need. Extra long or extra wide, it’s available.
You want to customize the entire bathroom. You can go there too. Have your window curtain custom made to match the shower curtain.
Fabric or vinyl? Your choice. Choose from a large selection of water proofed fabrics or vinyl in a wide variety of colors and textures.
If you want to give your home your very own unique personality, a custom made shower curtain is just what you want to get started.
Photo Shower Curtains
Take your personalization even further…
Use a photo or digital image and have it printed on a custom shower curtain. Place your order, send in the image and in two to four weeks will have a one of a kind bath curtain to show off to your friends.
A very popular option right now is to use old family photos to get a custom retro shower curtain. You need a rather large photo with good detail to make it work.
Create your own designs in a graphics program like Adobe Photoshop. Add personal photos, clip art, make a collage, let your imagination go wild.
Keep in mind though the end result will be square or rectangular. You can get dimensions from the product detail page on line. Manufactures often have email or phone support to answer your questions if you think you need help.
You will need to use high resolution photos. Images from cheap cameras and cell phones will be very blurry and pixelated on a large curtain. Don’t expect to send in a wallet photo and get a work of art back. That small photo won’t look so good once it’s blown up to full size.
Another thing to consider if you use clip art or photos you haven’t taken your self is copyright. You cannot legally take someone else’s photo and reproduce it. No reputable company will accept an image with a signed release from the copyright holder. Keep this in mind while you’re choosing your art work.
What kind of quality can you expect.
You will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and detail of your print. That is as long as you provide a clear high resolution image. Sharp contrast and crisp colors. But the colors most likely won’t match what you see on your computer monitor. Computers rendered colors will look slightly different from your final print on fabric. So don’t be alarmed when you see it.
What does it cost?
As you can imagine this kind of customization will not come cheap. A custom tub curtain will cost between $150 to $300 at most shops. Expect to pay extra for things like large text and photo processing. And then you’ll need to add shipping costs.
No doubt you may find better prices if you shop around. Just be sure you are dealing with a reputable dealer before you send any money.
Should you do it?
Only you can answer that. But if you really want to have a one of a kind work of art in your bathroom. Something no one else has. Something beautiful and meaningful then a custom shower curtain is waiting for you.
Definately a great way liven up an otherwise rather drap room in the house. Didn’t quite go as far out as the image top right, but off-beat enough to become a talking point with visitors.

I never thought I would be interested in Custom Shower curtains (I am male) but have noticed them in different places that I have been. Just like anything else you can pretty design whatever you want.
This would be a great idea for a low-cost bathroom ‘remodel’. Maybe do some trim paint, a new mirror, and new hardware on the cabinets, and you’ve got a fast, easy, inexpensive upgrade. A retro shower curtain could be the new focus.

My mom used to do these pretty customer shower curtains, I remember I still have one of hers somewhere around in my drawer. I can’t believe she was having the patience for it, lol. I don’t, I buy everything ready made either at the local DIY store, or from Amazon, whichever has the better choice.

Thanks for KWluv and I think you made some good choices in the layout of your blog also.
Jim,
Nice shower curtains are liked by everyone, men and women.
I think it’s kind of weird to have a photo on a curtain.
Since I spend so much time in the restroom getting ready every morning, I have to have the nicest colors and bathroom accessories.
The curtain on the picture looks very cute.
As long as it’s not see-through, it should be good.
